Which flea product is best for my dog?
 Advantage
Advantage
    
      - A topical insecticide administered once a month
- Kills fleas within 12 hours
- Acceptable for use on puppies 6 weeks or older
- Has no effect on ticks
- Dogs that are bathed more than once monthly would need to reapply
Advantix
    
      - Same as Advantage plus, but also repels and kills ticks and mosquitoes
Frontline Plus
    
      - A topical insecticide administered once a month
- Kills fleas, eggs, and larvae within 24 hours
- Kills ticks within 24 hours of coming in contact with product
- Acceptable for use on puppies 8 weeks of age and older
- Remains effective after moderative bathing and swimming once product is dry
- Acceptable for use on pregnant or lactating females
Comfortis
    
       A chewable tablet given once a month with a canned meal A chewable tablet given once a month with a canned meal
- Starts killing fleas within 30 minutes
- Acceptable for use in puppies 14 weeks of age and older
- A good choice for pets with flea allergies
- Has no effect on ticks
- Can be used in conjunction with other products to control ticks
- Cannot be used in dogs that have seizures or pregnant and lactating females
Please remember that these products are NOT heartworm preventatives and that your dog should also be on a monthly heartworm preventative such as Heartgard, Interceptor or Sentinel year round.

- Can be used in conjunction with other flea preventatives for severe infestations
